Some impressions from Hampstead Heath. Taken with D3100 and 18-55mm lens.
Hide and Seek
Those squirrels had been racing around the garden making an awful lot of noise since about 6 am.. so after watching them for a while in the mornings we decided to go and fetch the camera and take some pictures. I had a lot of empty shots, or a tail disappearing out of the side of the picture, but I also got a few cute ones..

Overlooking the kingdom

Stand Off on the fence

What you looking at me for?

Tasty Snack
Taken with my D3100 and 55 – 200mm lens. Missed about every single shot of them actually jumping off the tree, but it was good practice after all.
More from Night Shoot on the South Bank
Here are some more photos I took a few nights ago with my tripod, D3100 and 18 – 55mm lens.

Houses of Parliament

Westminster Bridge

London Eye

St. Paul's Cathedral
For a first time out at night I think they are not bad, but I am sure I could have done a little bit better in particular when it comes to framing. I found it a little difficult to frame the shot like I usually would since I was attached to the tripod… It was also quite windy, so a lot of the photos have turned out a bit blurry.
Next place to go will probably be London Bridge and Tower Bridge.
The London Eye

The London Eye
I got a lovely present for Christmas – a tripod.
Finally I was able to go out and experience with taking photos in the dark. I had a great time even though it was absolutely freezing. In about 5 hours we managed to take around 150 photos between the Houses of Parliament and St. Pauls.
I learnt a lot about exposure and experimented with shutter speeds from 10 to around 30 seconds. The worst part of it was waiting for my D3100 to pop out the picture – which unfortunately took almost as long as taking the actual photograph.
Can’t wait to go out again though! More photos to follow..
