Hand-Drawn Fonts Collection

Hand-Drawn Fonts Collection

I am unfortunately really busy at the moment trying to sort out my life offline. Going to interviews and next week probably trial days. So I felt like I had pretty much zero time off this week. I am kind of still thinking about doing my own site – but I just don’t seem to get round to it.

I was just scooping around for some hand-drawn fonts to see if anything inspires me. I was actually looking for one particular font as well, that has been used on p47 of the December issue of Company. (The handdrawn one) Something similar (sans-serif though) is being used by Carphone Warehouse on their website as well as in print.

So here is a collection of some collections. You know, for collecting.

Fudge Graphics has already compiled some cool hand-drawn fonts. AND the first one in the list is exactly the one I was looking for.

Hongkiat.com has a short introduction providing information on when to use handwritten fonts – actually quite obvious but nevermind a reminder every so often.

Another list at naldsgraphics.net.

These lists seem to cover the most used hand drawn fonts. Please also check out dafont.com and urbanfonts.com. Their pages are easily searchable and categorised. I will look at a few more fonts later on, so maybe I’ll write a second post on this.

These fireworks outside my window start to annoy me and I blame all nonsense I write today on them ;)

Google Wave

Google Wave

I just watched the documentation about google wave and I just thought this would be sooo useful to have for organising my work week. I could communicate with other nannies and mums to organise playdates, park trips and trips to the pool. We could share information such as maps, prices and pictures and could even keep each other updated on who’s going to join and who won’t. Dream on.

Ok, my first post

Ok, my first post

Actually very boring to name you first post something that involves first post, but.. well I just can’t come up with anything that describes the first post better than.. uhm first post.

Ok, I wanted to tell you again what I’m actually up to. I’m at the moment looking for a position as a Nanny and have got loads of time to spend reading about design when I’m not working.

My goal is it to learn more and more about design (esp. for the web) to get confident using photoshop and simply making things look good. Then my next goal is it to learn more about HTML and esp. CSS to turn my beautiful design into actual webpages. One of the things I would like to improve is this wordpress blog. Just give it my own style.

I found a wonderful blog (Creative Curio) a few days ago that has already helped me understand so many things that I am simply… HAPPY.

Earlier today I was reading about the elements of design and this kind of inspired me to do my own little “memory cards”.

See here (might be a bit small…sry for that) :

Elements of Design, Memory Cards

Elements of Design, Memory Cards

See here for the post that explains everything.

All of the cards have got some information on the back that kind of explains everything more. Thanks for this great post.
